Christopher Eubanks has reached the semi-finals of the Newport Hall of Fame Open after a thrilling 3-set win over Australian Aleksander Vukic.
Following a challenging year, the American looks to have regained his form on grass, securing a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(3) victory in Rhode Island.
Last year’s Wimbledon Quarter Finalist had to dig deep, facing multiple break points on serve during the final set. Speaking to the ATP website after the match, he praised the crowd for their home support.

“The match had a lot of ups and downs” he said. “In the 3rd set I really caught a good rhythm. The crowd support really energised me. That first game in the third I was down 0-40 and was able to come back and get a hold there”.
“I felt like myself again, I’m really pleased with how I played and how I competed”.
Eubanks will now face fellow American Marcos Giron for a place in the final. This will be his first semi-final appearance since his maiden ATP title in Mallorca last summer, which was also on grass.
